Their efforts don’t escape the attention of Ernest Marcos, the ambitious Chairman of the Earth Security Council (ESC), who conspires to take control of the technology and use it as leverage to buy to the top job of world government: President of the General Assembly.Alerted to the imminent arrival of one of the ESC´s best, Lambert Wayne, the team of Unity scientists makes a run for it, desperately trying to make their way through the solar system to the final testing ground. Lambert chases them from Earth to Mars, where violent a turn of events makes the ESC agent question the morality and even the legality of his mission and shatters his trust in the ESC´s leadership. Driven by gut instinct he joins the scientists and flees with them all the way to Jupiter´s moon Callisto, where Orion station lies buried deep beneath the service. As the scientists finalize their preparations to launch the Venture One, the first FTL space ship in history, a team of elite ESC commandos launches an assault on Orion Station. The assault, brutal and merciless as it is, comes too late to prevent the launch of the spaceship. But a final twist in the story finally reveals a more intricate conspiracy than the chairman of the ESC himself could have imagined.
